The MK in MK Dream Destinations

MK means more than just the Magic Kingdom! It's my initials, my signature, my mark. Here's a little bit of my story to go with it.

When I met my husband Trent, over 10 years ago, I told him that one day I'd like to be a Disney vacation planner.  My parents brought us a handful of times growing up, and it was there that we made some of my favorite memories as a family. But it is well-known that planning these experiences requires LOTS of research, decision-making, and logistics. It was a dream I tucked away, not sure if I would ever actually pursue it.

Since then, life has moved fast. We planted our roots, got married, and even honeymooned in Disney! Eventually, we welcomed our first baby. Another thing I was busy doing in between it all? Consuming every bit of content I could find about Disney vacation planning, restaurant reviews, hotel video tours, travel vlogs, new additions, price drops, FastPass+, then Genie+, and then Lightning Lanes, packing lists, crowd calendars, etc. etc. etc. I find the history, creativity, infrastructure, and overall guest experience so fascinating.  Seriously, I have an embarrassing amount of knowledge on Walt Disney World. Were there times I should have touched grass? Yes. But I digress...

I found myself stepping away from a job I loved due to childcare hurdles and the nature of Trent's oil field job. I became a stay-at-home mom, which was magical in its own way, but still a huge shift.

I knew that whenever I returned to work, it had to be flexible, from home, something I genuinely loved. Otherwise, I knew I'd continue to end up back at the drawing board. I kept circling back to the idea of being a travel advisor, but it still felt like a far-off pipe dream. When I finally brought it up again, my husband said, "You should do it. You should've done it years ago." That was the push I needed. When I found out I was pregnant again (surprise!), I made a promise to myself: once I had my daughter, I would stop wishing on stars and go for it. I knew it would take time to build, which meant I had no more time to waste.

So here I am.

After years of hearing friends and family say, "you should get paid to do this," I finally listened. And I'm so glad I did. I am more ready than ever before. Now I have something that is 100% mine where I can channel all this sparkling "dream-it, do-it" energy to help others. Something that allows me to be available to my family when they need me most, as well as my clients while they travel. And something that can grow more and more as my children do in the coming years. There's something incredibly special about helping other families make magical memories. I believe that if it's something your heart desires, there is a way. And by doing my part, I can help you find it.

Thanks so much for being here. I made my dream come true, and that's what I intend to do for my clients with MK Dream Destinations.
